Spitfire Josephine

In 2020 Spitfire Josephine will fly 3600 miles across Africa following the WW2 logistics route, which became known as the Takoradi Run.

WW2 pilots successfully delivered over 5000 aircraft - including 736 Spitfires - to North Africa in a challenging Allied Forces mission, which helped to bring WW2 to an end.

The Spitfire’s beautiful design and grace in the air represents that essential human desire to live a joyful, adventurous life. Crucial to that desire is a life lived in peace and freedom.

Josephine will fly in the name of over 20,000 airmen and women who fought for peace and freedom during WW2, but did not return home. They are still listed as 'missing' in war records and their personal stories remain unfinished, but they will never be forgotten.

Josephine represents the spirit of all Spitfires. These wonderful aircraft were built to bring war to an end, not to cause war, and Josephine has a story of her own to tell - and we would like you to be part of her story.

Thanks

As we prepare to set off on an amazing journey we want to take a moment to thank all of our supporters who have done so much to help us get this far. We are sure to be adding to the list, perhaps it might be your name or company next?
