Executive Producer & Expedition Team Leader
Boston is a key member of the Project Josephine team. He was involved from the early planning stage of this ambitious project. Boston will be leading the Expedition Team on the search to find the Bristol Blenheim wreckage site and the burial place of the missing pilot, who lost his life when the plane crashed in a remote area of central Africa.
Boston will also be Lead Support for our ground crew of aeronautical engineers, who will be following Josephine’s progress and ensuring she remains airworthy throughout her historic flight across Africa and on towards to Singapore. Boston’s extensive leadership skills are informed by his military experience in the Democratic Republic of Congo, the country of his birth. He currently lives in Uganda with his wife and young family, but frequently returns to the Democratic Republic of Congo in his professional capacity as a guide.
Boston played an important supporting role in Steve Fisher’s documentary Congo: The Grand Inga Project, which captured Steve Fisher, Ben Marr, Rush Sturges and Tyler Bradt’s successful kayaking descent of the world’s biggest rapids, the notorious Inga Rapids on the Congo River.
In 2014 he became a popular figure on British TV when he featured in the Channel 4 documentary series Walking The Nile. The documentary followed English explorer Levison Wood during his attempt to walk the length of the river Nile from source to sea. Boston accompanied Levison from Rwanda to South Sudan.
